What's hosting?
Hosting is simply another fast computer/server that is more or less dedicated to hosting your website.
This, in as far as possible, is done 24hrs. a day, 365 days a year.
You will get an I.P. address (see related article) for that particulat host.
So, while a domain name is somewhat portable or transferable, to a different host, it's I.P. address has to change.
In other words, www.CountControl.com can be found, even when hosted with a different company/host. An extreme case would be if I changed to an account hosted on the opposite side of the world.

Incidentally, that last link, if pressed will cause this page to re-load, rather than go to my home page(index.html). It was so hyperlinked, regardless of its' browser appearance. That link, or any, could just as easily be made to load any page, any where, or indeed, any download of anything.

LCH or Low Cost Hosting is great and cheap, but it is really for the people who have some knowledge of files and folders, ftp or file transfer protocol, and other stuff than can complicate the issue.
Also with it, there may be less support where it is needed. This is the reason that it is cheaper. Less support personnel means less overheads.
Basically, it means that you should shop around and pay particular attention to the level of support that you may require.
